Copping Hyped Kicks May Get Harder: Nike Reminds Retailers Not to Ship Internationally (UPDATE) - HYPEBEAST

UPDATE (January 7, 2020): Nike has reached out to confirm that this is not a new policy, but rather an old term & condition that is being sent out as a reminder to its retailer partners. Here’s what Nike told us:

“Retail partners are a key part of Nike’s Consumer Direct Offense. Similar to other premium brands, we have Terms & Conditions of Sale in place with individual retail partners to better serve consumers in each territory with the right assortment, based on local demand.”

Nike’s Terms & Conditions prohibit international shipping, or shipping outside of a retailer’s designated home area, and thus, a reminder of this policy was sent to retail partners several months ago.

ORIGINAL STORY (January 6, 2020): According to reports, Nike and Jordan Brand has now launched new shipping policy restrictions that prevents select sneaker retailers from shipping its products internationally.

In a bid to regain control over its brand, the sportswear giant has launched the international policy to promote to ensure it meets local demand. Despite being a key part of Nike’s Consumer Direct Offense, some retailers will now face new terms and conditions of sale to ensure a region acquires the right allotment. Stores like Sneakersnstuff have already been noting the shipping restriction on Nike and Jordan Brand products it is now facing, “Please note: From January 2020, Nike and Jordan products may no longer be delivered from Europe to your region.”
